Kingman IN -- Deward J. Allen, 67 of Kingman Rt 2, died at 7:50 a.m. Sunday Feb 16, 1975 at his home. He had been ill for some time and recently hospitalized for 23 days. Born Feb 1, 1908 in Fountain County, he was the son of George C. and Leslie Jackson Allen. On Dec 12, 1939, he married Larena Shoaf, who survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Linda) Fulkerson of Granger; a son, Rex Lee of Kingman Rt 1; two sisters, Mrs. John (Myrtle) Martin of Brownsburg and Mrs. Gene (Eva) Lintz of Sebring, Fla; two stepsisters, Mrs. Juanita Keller of Kingman Rt 1 and Mrs. Ezra (Leota) Hines of Judyville; a stepbrother, Lewis Allen of Attica; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded ind eath by a sister and two brothers. Mr. Allen was a veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific and Asiatic theatres. He retired from Ft. Foundry in Veedersburg in Feb 1973 after 27 years. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wed at the Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating and Rev. Luther Page assisting. Burial in Kingman Fraternal Cem. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m Tuesday at the funeral home.
